Understand the Onboarding Phases
The Onboarding Jama Connect site is organized into four phases designed to be followed in order:
These phases help prepare your organization and individual team members for change throughout the Jama Connect implementation. Use the navigation on the left side of the site to move between phases.
Each phase includes:
- Objective: Describes what the phase is intended to accomplish.
- Completion criteria: Defines what should be accomplished before moving to the next phase.
- Actions and resources: Provides guidance and supporting materials to help you meet the completion criteria.
Complete the recommended activities and review the completion criteria before moving to the next phase.
Work Through the Activities
Analyze the Process with Jama Connect® Framework
Objective
Clearly define the scope of Jama Connect® and identify any gaps between process needs and the out-of-box configuration of Jama Connect®
Actions
- Core Team attends Jama Connect® 101 training to familiarize themselves with Jama Connect® capabilities and begin building for using Jama Connect®.
- Document the process areas in scope for your deployment of Jama Connect®.
- Document any gaps (e.g., content gaps, fields/attribute gaps) between your process needs and the pre-configured Jama Connect® dataset.
Each phase contains activities with specific objectives that contribute to its completion.
Activities provide recommended actions and links to resources that can help you:
- Plan and complete deployment activities.
- Learn more about relevant Jama Connect capabilities and practices.
- Prepare your organization and teams for implementation.
- Meet the completion criteria for the phase.
Work through the activities within each phase and use the supporting resources as needed.
Explore More
Some onboarding activities include an Explore More option that provides additional guidance, resources, and supporting information.
Select Explore More when you want to dive deeper into a topic or learn more about a specific activity.
Get Help with Success Programs
Jama Software® offers professional services through Success Programs for organizations that need additional guidance or expert assistance during onboarding.
Three levels of Success Programs are available:
- Essentials
- Guided
- Strategic
Success Programs provide credits that can be used toward eligible Success Offerings.
Onboarding activities identify applicable Success Offerings when additional assistance from Jama Software experts may be helpful. Select an offering to learn more about the service and submit a request.
Jama Software will confirm that your organization has available credits before proceeding with services. If credits are not available, Jama Software will work with your organization to determine an appropriate program.
What to Do Next
Begin with the Ready phase and work through its activities and resources. Use the phase completion criteria to confirm that your organization is prepared before continuing to the Set phase.
As you progress through onboarding, use Explore More for additional guidance and the recommended Success Offerings when expert assistance would benefit your implementation.
