- Onboarding Jama Connect®
Summary
Define and document the reasons for implementing Jama Connect® so your Core Team has a shared understanding of the challenges you are addressing, the outcomes you want to achieve, and how you will measure progress. These goals will help guide deployment priorities, support stakeholder buy-in, and provide a foundation for communicating and managing change.
Resolution
Define Your Goals
Work with your Core Team to document and agree on the following:
- Current challenges and negative consequences: Identify the problems, inefficiencies, or risks your organization wants to address.
- Future state and positive business outcomes: Define what success looks like and the outcomes you expect to achieve.
- Key capabilities: Identify the capabilities needed to enable the desired business outcomes.
- Success metrics: Determine how you will measure progress toward or achievement of your goals.
Use Your Goals to Guide the Deployment
Use your agreed-upon goals to help establish the scope and priorities of your Jama Connect deployment.
Clearly defined goals also help stakeholders understand why changes are being made and the value those changes are expected to deliver. Refer to your goals throughout onboarding when:
- Communicating with stakeholders.
- Making deployment and configuration decisions.
- Training users.
- Prioritizing implementation activities.
- Managing organizational change.
Define How You Will Measure Success
Identify the metrics that will help you determine whether your organization is progressing toward its goals.
Your existing processes or tools may not currently provide all the data you need. If a desired metric cannot be measured today, document it and create a plan to collect the necessary data regularly.
Establishing metrics early provides a baseline for evaluating progress and demonstrating the impact of your Jama Connect implementation over time.
What to Do Next
Review the goals, desired outcomes, key capabilities, and success metrics with your Core Team and confirm agreement before moving forward.
Use these agreed-upon goals to guide the scope and priorities of your deployment and as a reference throughout the remaining onboarding activities.
