Summary

A known issue may occur in Jama Connect Interchange™ versions up to 1.24 when synchronizing items that contain tables.

This issue originates from a defect in how empty table cells are handled during synchronization between Jira and Jama Connect.

When a Jira item contains a table with at least one empty cell, the following behavior may occur:

  • The item is initially synchronized to Jama Connect correctly, preserving the table structure.
  • Shortly after, Jama triggers a re-synchronization back to Jira, even if no changes were made.
  • During this step, empty cells in the table are removed, which corrupts the table structure in Jira.
  • Jama still displays the original (correct) table temporarily.
  • Jira then sends the corrupted table back to Jama during the next synchronization cycle.
  • At this point, the table becomes corrupted in both systems, and the synchronization loop stops.

This issue has been resolved in version 1.25 and later releases.

Resolution

Upgrade Jama Connect Interchange™

To resolve this issue, upgrade Jama Connect Interchange™.

Upgrading is recommended not only to fix this issue but also to benefit from additional defect fixes and new features introduced in subsequent releases.

Preventing the Issue (if upgrade is not immediate)

If upgrading is not immediately possible, avoid using tables with empty cells in synchronized fields, as this triggers the defect.
