Summary
Sync Breaks After Jama Connect Project Restructure – Field-Mapping Group Updates Required
Resolution
When items are moved to new folders or sets in Jama Connect, the corresponding Field-Mapping (FM) Groups in Jama Connect Interchange must be updated. Jama Connect Interchange will only sync items that remain inside the FM Group’s defined scope; moved items simply fall out of scope—they are not permanently “unsynced.”

Action |
Detail / Workflow |
|---|---|---|
1 |
Detect the Gap |
Sync suddenly stops for certain items after a project re-org. Check Zendesk ticket (e.g., #84036) or Jama Connect Interchange logs – you’ll find no errors, just missing items. |
2 |
Open Field-Mapping |
Jama Connect Interchange → Integrations → Field Mappings → select the affected mapping group. |
3 |
Update Location Scope |
In the Location column, browse and choose the item’s new folder / set path. Click Save (bottom-right). |
4 |
Test Sync |
Run Preview → Commit. The previously missing items should reappear in the sync list and complete successfully. |
5 |
Communicate Change Control |
Add a note to the project’s change procedure: “After any Jama restructure, update Jama Connect Interchange FM Groups.” |
6 |
Preventive Review |
Schedule a 15-min post-restructure check with the project lead to confirm all FM Groups still cover the intended locations. |
