Missing Workflow Transitions on items

Summary

Some Items are missing the Workflow transitions in the GUI. This may be because the global workflow setting is not using all the pick list value options. Each project can customize the workflow by overriding the global workflow setting. Please review with your Jama Administrators and the system change control board to see if having unique project workflow settings is recommended or if it is better to update the global workflow setting. The solution below shows how a unique project can customize and override the global workflow setting.

Solution

1. Log in to your Jama instance with Admin credentials and navigate to the Admin tab
2. Select the Project tab.
3. Select the Project that contains the impacted items.
4. When you select the project, on the right side, you will see a list of options. Select the Workflow tab.
5. Scroll through the list and click on the Override button for the impacted itemType. 
   
6. This will prompt a pop-up. Click Yes to proceed:
   
7. This will then open up the Workflow options.
8. Proceed to Save the settings (You do not have to make any changes).
   
9. Once the override is applied, you will see that there are two Action options now for the concerned itemType.
10. Click on the Remove Override. 
    
11. This should technically rebuild the workflow statuses and reinstate the missing transitions.
