Summary

This article clarifies whether a Named Creator license is required to use the Relationship Import Plugin in Jama Connect® and explains how plugin usage relates to REST API licensing.

Users with either a Named Creator or Floating Creator license can use Jama Connect® plugins, including the Relationship Import Plugin and User Import Plugin.

Resolution

A Named Creator license is required to use Jama Connect® REST API endpoints.

However, the Relationship Import Plugin and User Import Plugin are internal Jama Connect tools and do not use the REST API. As a result, they do not require a Named Creator license.

Key points:

  • Named Creator license → required for REST API access
  • Floating Creator license → supports plugin usage
  • Relationship Import Plugin → does not use the REST API
  • User Import Plugin → does not use REST API
  • Either Named Creator or Floating Creator licenses can be used to run these plugins

IMPORTANT: Access to the REST API is limited to users with a Named Creator Jama Connect license, including access to v1, labs, and SCIM endpoints. Users without a Named Creator Jama Connect license, including those with a Creator Float License, do not have access.
