Summary
Project Administrators may only see a partial list of users in Jama, while Organization Administrators can view the full user list. This article explains why this behavior occurs and how to allow Project Administrators to view all users across the organization.
Solution
To allow Project Administrators to see users outside of their assigned projects, an Organization Administrator must enable the following organization-level setting:
Allow project administrators access to all users and organization groups
Steps:
1. Log in to Jama as an Organization Administrator.
2. Navigate to Admin > Organization > Details.
3. Locate the setting "Allow project administrators access to all users and organization groups".
4. Enable the setting and save the changes.
Once enabled, Project Administrators will be able to view all users and organization groups, not just those associated with their projects.
Cause
By default, Project Administrators are restricted to viewing only users associated with their assigned projects. If the organization-level setting "Allow project administrators access to all users and organization groups” is not enabled, this behavior is expected.
Prevention
Review organization-level permission settings when assigning Project Administrator roles.
- Ensure this setting is enabled if Project Administrators need visibility into all users and groups.
- Document permission configurations to avoid confusion between Organization Admin and Project Admin capabilities.
