Summary
When filtering comments in Review Center, the numbers shown in parentheses for each comment status may be interpreted as the total number of comments in that status. However, these counts reflect the number of items that contain at least one comment with that status.
Example:
The system counts at the item level, not the comment level.
That being said, an item can appear in multiple counts. For example, if an item has both an open comment and a resolved comment, it will be included in the Open, Resolved, and All counts.
Solution
The counts represent the number of items that contain comments in each status—not the number of individual comments.
Cause
Items with comments in multiple statuses contribute to each corresponding status count.
Prevention
In more recent versions of Jama Connect (Cloud 9.30 and above), this functionality has been updated to display the exact number of comments rather than counting items that contain those comments.
