Audience: Jama Connect Admins – Users with access to the KOTS Admin Console who need to sync or update trial licenses.
Environmental Details:
Jama Connect versions: 9.6 and later (steps reference license updates appearing in version 9.6).
License type: MathType (WIRIS) trial or developer license.
Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari.
Server OS: Linux-based or containerized environments.
Summary
This article provides steps to sync or update your MathType (WIRIS) trial license in Jama Connect, whether your environment is online or air-gapped.
Prerequisites
Access to KOTS Admin Console or server CLI.
Latest MathType license file (
license.yaml).Permissions to deploy sequences and modify KOTS configurations.

Open KOTS Admin Console
Navigate to: https://<your hostname>:8800

Access License Management
Go to the Application tab.
Select the License sub-tab.

Sync or Upload License
Online installations: Click Sync License on the right side of the license wrapper.
Air-gap installations: Click Upload License, then select the latest license file from your machine.
The KOTS Admin Console will check for updates and create a new version of your license.
Note: These steps are required if the license change appears applied to version 9.6. Steps to Sync Your License

Deploy Updated Sequence
Go to the Version History sub-tab.
Deploy the sequence containing the license changes.

Verify License Updates
Log in to Jama Connect.
Navigate to the License Management tab to confirm that the license has been updated successfully.
