Attachments, Tags and Links not Syncing

Summary

This article explains why tags, attachments, and links may not sync between source and destination items within the same project, even when the checkboxes in the sync pop-up are selected, the tags, attachments, links, and change requests will not transfer if the Sync option is not enabled in the Item Type configuration.. 

Resolution 

To ensure tags, attachments, and links sync correctly, follow these steps:

  1.  Verify Org Admin access – You need Org Admin privileges to adjust item type configurations.

  2.  Navigate to Org Admin > Item Types.

  3.  Select the relevant Item Type and click Edit.

  4.  Confirm that the widgets for tags, attachments, links, and change requests are set to Active.

  5.  Check whether the Sync option is enabled for each element. If it is not enabled, toggle it on:

  6. After enabling the Sync option, attempt to sync the items again.

  7.  Verify that the selected elements now transfer to the destination item.

To avoid missing elements during future syncs:

  • Ensure that all required widgets have the Sync option enabled when configuring Item Types.
