Invitation Email Displays an Unexpected Username

Summary

In some cases, a newly invited user may receive an invitation email that displays an unexpected username, even though the user's account later shows the correct username in Jama Connect®.

If the username displayed in the invitation email differs from the username currently shown in the application, verify that the user's account information is correct. If the account information is correct but the invitation email contains an unexpected username, contact Jama Support for assistance.

Resolution

Symptoms

You may observe one or more of the following:

  • A user invitation email displays a username that differs from the username currently shown in Jama Connect.
  • The user's email address is correct, but the username shown in the invitation email appears incorrect or outdated.
  • The issue affects a single newly created user rather than all user invitations.

Verify the User Account

  1. Navigate to Org Admin > Users.
  2. Open the affected user account.
  3. Verify that the username is correct.
  4. Save any necessary changes.

If the username in Jama Connect is correct but does not match the username shown in the invitation email, continue to the next section.

Note: Invitation emails that have already been delivered cannot be updated. If user information is modified after an invitation email has been generated, the previously delivered email will not be updated.

Contact Support

Contact Jama Support if:

  • The invitation email displays an unexpected username.
  • The username shown in Org Admin > Users is correct.
  • The behavior affects one or more newly created users.

To help expedite the investigation, include the following information in your support request:

  • Your Jama Connect URL
  • The affected user's email address
  • The current username configured in Jama Connect
  • The username displayed in the invitation email
  • The approximate date and time the invitation email was sent
  • A screenshot or copy of the invitation email, if available

Providing this information helps Support determine the cause of the behavior and identify the appropriate resolution.
