  • Self-hosted, Replicated - KOTS
  • Jama Connect® version(s)

Summary

Users may need to restore their Jama Connect instance to a previous state using a .jama backup file.

Resolution

While these steps are outlined in the backup and restore procedure within the User Guide, they are summarized below for convenience.

Before making any changes, first back up your application assets and database as a precaution.

  1. Drop the existing database and create a new one.

  2. Ensure the new database uses the same name as the previous one so no configuration changes are required.

  3. Copy the .jama backup file to the application server (for example: /data/.../backup.jama).

  4. In the Admin Console, enter the full backup file path in the Restore Jama Backup field.

  5. Save the configuration and redeploy the application.

This will initiate the restore process using the specified backup file.
