Use Case

In some organizations, SMEs that approve or review requirements also manage Jama administration.  For administrators (specifically users with Review Admin enabled), certain views in the Review Center dashboard will look different to what non-admin views.  One specific element that is not present for Review Administrators is the "My Progress" bar — which can be helpful understanding review progress.

In this case, these SMEs may want to refine their user group and permission structure so the "My Progress" bar is visible to them.

Best Practice

SMEs participating in Jama reviews who also have an administrative role may not need Review Admin access enabled and should instead delegate that role.  They CAN maintain other administrative permissions if needed — like process and project administration.

Implementation

  1. Be sure at least one user group in your Organization has Review Admin.  Typically, this is the Org Admin group — the default administrative group delivered with your Jama Connect instance.
  2. Create a new user group for the persona — SMEs that participate in Jama Reviews and require some level of Administrative access.

  3. Apply permissions accordingly.  Below is an example — where all admin functions are given to the group EXCEPT review admin.
