Environmental details

  • Jama Version: Cloud v9.26.0

  • Authentication: SAML enabled

The issue was observed during export of reviews to PDF and Word formats in Jama Software. The error occurs with reviews in “Approved and Signed” status, while exports succeed for reviews in “Finished” status. Users with administrative roles may still face access issues with certain reviews.

Summary

This article guides troubleshooting export issues in Jama Software for PDF and Word formats. It includes:

  • Steps to reproduce the issue

  • Potential causes

  • Solutions to resolve export errors

Solution

  1. Open the Review Stats option.

  2. Navigate to the Participant Progress tab.

  3. In the user table, check the Electronic Signature column.

  • If values are empty but users appear as “Approved and Signed”, this indicates an E-Signature issue.

4. Confirm whether the Electronic Signature was enabled when SAML was activated.

  • If disabled, users attempting to approve and sign will not see the credentials input, and the step is bypassed.

5. To resolve:

  • Access Provisor and check “Enable Electronic Signature in Connect”.

  • Users should now be able to approve and sign correctly.

  • Once signatures appear in the user table, exports to PDF/Word will succeed.

Cause

The export fails because electronic signatures were not enabled. When a user tries to approve and sign, the step is bypassed, and no signature is saved, causing the getLatestRevisionSignature() error during export.

Prevention

Ensure Electronic Signature is enabled when using SAML.

Verify all users have the appropriate access rights and are members of the required groups for the E-Signature application.
