Jama Connect Advisor — Test Case Generation Beta

Jama Connect Advisor's newest feature, Test Case Generation, is now available for Beta testing. If you are interested in participating, please contact your Jama Software Account Manager or submit this form. 

Test Case Generation streamlines your tedious manual test case creation using AI to save you time and improve your testing process. 

With Test Case Generation, you can: 

• Test parameters for Test Type, Test Context, and Test Vertical.
• Review, edit, and generate Test Cases based on AI suggestions.
• Regenerate Test Cases with additional information to refine results.

For instant traceability, Test Cases are automatically linked to the source requirement.

Live Trace Explorer — Enhanced Filters with Nested Conditions

With Live Trace Explorer Filters, y​​​​ou can now create nested filters that support multiple conditions, combined using AND and OR logic, giving you greater control over what's included in your coverage metrics.

This enhancement is part of our ongoing effort to empower teams with reliable, focused, and meaningful coverage metrics. By refining the scope of your analysis, you gain more relevant insights — tailored to your project's stage and the way you build and validate your systems.

Use cases

Ignore Draft or Rejected designs

Not every item in a component or set should be included in coverage.

Many teams mark items as draft, rejected (or obsolete, deprecated, etc.) for historical reference, and these are not expected to require coverage.

Filters allow you to exclude those items from the traceability metrics.

Measuring coverage for approved requirements AND ignoring "could" and "won't" (importance)

When assessing coverage, a user wants a metric that represents approved and important work to keep focus on the project vision.

The following example illustrates filtering items based upon the MoSCoW (Must, Should, Could, Won't) scale for importance and Status (Approved, Under Review, Rejected, Draft) 

Test Center — Enhanced Locking Protection

We are excited to introduce enhancements to user locking protection in Test Center, which strengthen compliance, ensure consistency, and reduce errors. Testing artifacts are often numerous, heavily used by multiple users over extended periods, and frequently share names. As a result, unintended adjustments or errors can lead to data loss or process deviations. With these updates, users can now lock Test Plans and Test Cycles to safeguard critical organizational data, including Tests and Test Runs.

Updates from Customer Feedback

Enhanced Lock Protection

Users will no longer be able to delete items from Single Item View or List View if they have applied a lock to the selected items. Previously, if the user was the owner of the lock, they could delete items. Users must remove their own locks from a list to delete an item via Single Item View.

Coming Soon 

With the Jama Connect 9.29 Cloud release (9.28.x for Self Hosted and Customer Validated Cloud) coming in November, Jama Software will introduce API Reporting. This new view provides Organization Admins with the ability to see the users who are making REST API calls, their OAuth ClientID(s), and volume. To support this enhancement, only users with Named Creator licenses will be allowed to access the REST API. Contact your Customer Success Manager for any questions regarding licensing requirements.
