Jama Connect® v9.28
Live Trace Explorer — End of Beta
Live Trace Explorer provides a dynamic view of the V-Model, helping you assess coverage completeness and validity.
It empowers teams to spot gaps early, monitor progress continuously, and reduce project risks before they grow costly.
With configurations and filters, you can tailor diagrams to measure coverage on project aspects that matter most, based on item types and their attributes, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
After proving itself to be fast, stable, reliable, and flexible—and with over 60 customers adopting it during the Beta phase—we are now ending the Beta period and inviting all customers to take advantage of this capability.
Updates from Customer Feedback
Inherited Values for Custom Fields
A new option has been added to select custom fields, allowing you to copy values from related items. Similar to Rollup and Calculated fields, these values are automatically updated when changes are made to the source item. These values are searchable and filterable, but they do not increase the target item's version or create an activity on it.
Supported Custom Field Types:
- Date
- Flag
- Float
- Integer
- Text box
- Text Field
- URL
Double-byte Character Support
Jama Connect now supports double-byte characters in file names and the default export to PDF option.
Option to Disable Quick Add and Inline Insert
Users who want to ensure that required fields are completed when creating the first version of an item can opt to disable the "Quick Add" and "Inline Insert" options. Organization admins can modify this setting from the Admin Details page.
Optimized Performance for Deleting a Large Scale Test Plan
It's now 22x quicker to delete a test plan with ~10,000 test runs.
Enhanced Test Cycle Search to Support Substring Matching
Searching for Test Cycles is now more efficient and intuitive. You can type text from anywhere in the Test Cycle name to dynamically narrow down returned results with each keystroke.
Coming Soon
With the Jama Connect 9.29 Cloud release (9.28.x for Self-hosted and Customer Validated Cloud) coming in November, Jama Software will introduce API Reporting. This new view will allow Organization Admins to see the users making REST API calls, their OAuth ClientID(s), and the volume of calls. To support this enhancement, only users with Named Creator licenses will be allowed to access the REST API. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for any questions regarding licensing requirements.
API Monitoring Usage
The API monitoring usage feature provides visibility into API usage across your system by associating activity with specific owners through Jama Software logs.
At the core of this feature is the ability to track and analyze key API interactions, including:
- Which users are accessing specific resources
- How frequently requests are made
- Which specific actions are performed
