Resolving Duplicate Status Fields Appearing in Mixed Item Views

Summary

When two or more item types define a Status field with any of the following differences, Jama Connect treats them as distinct fields in mixed item views.:

  • Different field label
  • Different Unique Field Name
  • Same label or Unique Field Name but referencing different pick lists
  • Same pick list but configured differently (e.g. single-select vs. multi-select)

This causes the same field — typically status — to appear as multiple separate fields in mixed item views.

Resolution

Rename the field label and/or Unique Field Name in Admin → Item Types to clearly differentiate the Status fields across item types (e.g. "CR Status" instead of "Status").

This is non-destructive. It will not affect existing item data.
