How to access traceability information of Test cases in a Test Plan

Use Case

User would like to know the list of Requirements traceable from Test Cases associated with a Test Plan.

Best Practice

We can create a Filter based on the Test Runs in the Test Plan.

The result of that Filter lets us navigate through Traceview to the list of Requirements traceable from the Test Cases in a Test Plan.

Implementation

Step 1

If not all Test Cases are used to generate Test Runs in the Test Cycle, first create a "dummy" Test Cycle that includes all the Test Cases in the Test Plan.

Step 2

Create a filter for all Test Runs in the Test Plan.

Step 3

Save the filter, than you can select TRACEVIEW and navigate upstream from the Test Runs to the Test Cases, than to the Requirements related to the Test Cases in the Test Plan.
