  • Do not use abbreviations such as “Jama,” “JCI,” or “JCA” in any customer-facing materials.

  • Always refer to the company as “Jama Software”.

  • Always refer to the product as “Jama Connect®”.

  • When applicable, use the full product names “Jama Connect Interchange” or “Jama Connect Advisor”.

Use Case

When using the Relationship Import Plugin, a user may want to select the relationship type that is imported for the set of relationships being added to Jama Connect®.

Best Practice

The best practice to accomplish using a specific relationship type is to change the default relationship type before each specific type of import. This can only be done through the Admin panel of Jama Connect and is a global update.

Implementation

  1. Gather information for a Relationship Import Plugin
  2. Create a Relationship Import Plugin
  3. Generate an import ready CSV file
  4. Select Admin
  5. Select Relationships
  6. Select the Relationship Type that you wish to import

  7. Select the red flag "Set/Clear default item" button

  8. Import your relationships CSV

If you are attempting to import multiple relationship types, you will need to separate those relationships into separate CSV files repeat these steps for each CSV file. This will allow you to change the default type before importing for each new import.
