Jama Connect® v9.22.2 - Customer-Validated Cloud
*This release includes an update to the backend system containers only, with no changes to the Jama Connect 9.22.0 application build.
New Tag Management Option for Locked Items
Organization and project admins can now enable the Allow tag management for locked items option for a project, which allows users to add and remove tags from user-locked items and system-locked items per project. This functionality is available across multiple views: Single Item View, List View, Bulk Edits, and via the Public API.
Introducing Traceability Information Model Labeling
Updates have been made to indicate the Traceability Information Model as defined by the relationship rules associated with this project.
The relationship diagram has been renamed "Traceability Information Model" to better reflect its multifaceted nature, which includes item type definitions, relationship rules, and the expected traceability for the project. These changes are reflected in the dashboard and admin views of the diagram, as well as in Live Trace Explorer. Additional labeling and organization updates to administration will be included in future releases.
Note: These changes do not impact the functionality and configurability of the Traceability Information Model itself.
Introducing the Live Trace ExplorerTM — Open Beta
Live Trace Explorer provides comprehensive and detailed insights into your complex product, systems, and software development processes. This feature automates the measurement of requirements traceability, coverage across disciplines, and your organization's toolchain.
Live Trace Explorer provides an at-a-glance snapshot of the traceability of your product's requirements to help you quickly and efficiently evaluate coverage, address any gaps, and proactively manage associated risks by answering two key questions:
- How complete is my traceability? Completeness is measured by the coverage percentage of the items in the diagram, which is based on the total number of expected relationships for items within each tile. These roll up into the Trace Score for the entire diagram.
- What is the quality of my traceability? Paths between any two tiles represent all the relationships between the items of those two tiles. Suspect links are displayed in red to let you know when the quality of traceability in your project is at risk.
If you would like to try Live Trace Explorer, please contact designresearch@jamasoftware.com and you can learn more at Jama Connect Help.
Accessibility Updates
To improve accessibility and align with WCAG 1.1.1 and 4.1.2, we’ve added text labels to item type icons across Jama Connect. This update allows users of assistive technologies to easily identify item types — such as in reviews, the Project Explorer Tree, and Document View — without needing to open each item. By making iconography programmatically discernible, we’re continuing our commitment to a more inclusive and efficient user experience.
Reading View EOL
As part of our commitment to continuously enhance the user experience and provide more powerful tools, we have decided to retire Reading View in this release. With this in mind, Document View, is your go-to view as a replacement for Reading View. Document View not only encompasses all the capabilities of Reading View, but also delivers significant enhancements that support your workflow efficiency and collaboration needs.
To ensure a smooth transition, we encourage you to explore Document View as soon as possible if you haven't already done so. Resources are available in our Help Documentation, and our support team is ready to assist with any questions or challenges during this transition.
Simplified Baseline Comparison Export Options
In this release, the "Export detailed report" option available from the baseline compare dialog has been removed. After reviewing usage and customer feedback, we found that the preference is to access baseline comparison reports from the Reports option in the header.
REST API Updates
- DELETE /items/{id}/categories — New endpoint is now available to unapply one or more categories from an item.
General Maintenance and Library Updates
This release includes standard maintenance updates designed to enhance performance, security, and improve reliability across multiple areas, including:
- Apache Tomcat
- Open Search
- Spring
