Summary
In this article, you will learn how to hide and unhide item-type fields depending on what view you are working on.
To manage the field´s management view, you must have Org—admin permissions to perform these configurations.
Solution
Your administrator can configure a default view with specific fields to be shown in the item type set for the whole organization by going to the Admin tab > Organization tab > Item Types > ´Select the desired item´ > View.
Jama Connect® provides various tools to manage field views, including the following areas:
"Project List View" or "List View" is a comprehensive display of all the items in a particular set, organized hierarchically in the Explorer tree. The information is displayed in a dynamic table format where each field is presented as a column with its corresponding data (images are intentionally not included). In this view, you can sort, select, drag and drop, and rearrange columns as needed. You can also easily edit the content of an item by double-clicking on the area you want to modify instead of going to the Single Item View.
"Project List View with Mixed Item Types"
It is the same general view in a set as the List view but with mixed item types. Also, when you use an Advanced Filter and then get a result search, this view is managed by this option.
"Project Reading View" or "Reading View"
A general view of all your items in a hierarchical order in the Explorer tree with text and images in a set. This view allows you to read all the information like a document. You can use Reading View in both Projects and Reviews. In this view, you can perform the following tasks:
- View images
- Select individual or multiple items
- Open items
- View hierarchy with numbering
- Drag items to the Explorer Tree to reorder (as long as the item type allows it)
- Add comments and view connected users
- Configure fields
- View related items
- Export hierarchical content from an advanced filter
"Project Document View" or "Document View"
This view is similar to Reading View but provides more options for a streamlined authoring and editing experience. Like other authoring tools, you can create, edit, and read items all in one view — no need to switch views for each function. Use the edit feature to quickly edit items without changing views or manually tracking your place in the document.
Note: This view is only available from version 9.0.2
Review Center Single Item View
It is a view in a review that allows you to see your item's information sent out from a set through the Explorer tree, a Filter search, or a single item with text and images following the hierarchy order. His aspect view looks similar to the Reading and Document View but has different item management options.
Review Center Reading View
This view is located when you enter a review. In it, you will see your item's information sent out from a set through the Explorer tree, a Filter search, or a single item with text and images following the hierarchy order.
