Summary:

After moving items, the move appears to be successful. However, the items either

  • It still appears in the original project, not the new one.
  • It shows up in the new project, but the tree set/component hierarchy is missing.

Screenshot 2024-06-15 at 2.06.17 PM.pngUsers can search and find items - but clicking on items in the tree may not appear, and the list view may be empty. Some customers have reported seeing this error message:

Solution:

  1. Right-click on the set/container/folder in its current/original project (do not drag and drop to move)
  2. Move it into this same current/original project
  3. Once that move is finished, verify the items are showing up in this project.
  4. You can then move them into the destination project. Try doing this in smaller batch sizes of items (e.g., individual sets rather than multiple sets in a component)

Cause:

Moving many items is a performance-intensive task and can be interrupted. The move will appear to have been completed.

Prevention:

  • Only move large amounts of items during periods of low usage, or when you know, no one is interacting with the items being moved.
  • We recommend moving items in batches into a component created in the destination project.
  • They suggested batches of 5,000 items, but the exact number will depend on the hierarchy and other factors.

Additional Information/Metadata:

  • List View Empty
  • Batch move
