Merge multiple Word documents into a single file

Microsoft provides instructions for merging multiple Word documents into a single file in the following article: Merge Word documents. The steps below summarize that process for convenience.

1. Create a new Microsoft Word document that will serve as the combined import file.

2. Place the cursor where you want the first document to be inserted.

3. Select the Insert tab, choose Object, and then select Text from File.

4. Browse to the folder containing the Word documents you want to combine. To select multiple documents at once, hold the Ctrl key while selecting each file.

5. Select Insert. Word merges the selected documents into the current file. Documents are inserted in the order they appear in the file list. If you need a different order, insert each document individually in the desired sequence.

Verify the combined document

Review the merged document to confirm that the formatting has been preserved and that the content appears in the correct order before importing it into Jama Connect®.

Note: Microsoft Word may not preserve all formatting when documents are merged. Review the combined document and make any necessary formatting adjustments before performing the import.
