Created By Filter Only Displays Users from the Current Project When "All Projects" Is Selected

Summary

When creating or editing an advanced filter, selecting All Projects as the project scope may not display all users in the Created By user picker.

Instead, the user picker may display only users associated with the current project, even though the filter is configured to search across all projects.

Jama Software has confirmed this behavior as a known product issue. As a result, users who belong only to other projects may not be available for selection in the Created By filter.

Resolution

Verify the Issue

  1. Open an advanced filter.
  2. Set "Select a Project " to "All Projects".
  3. Add a Created By equals filter rule.
  4. Open the Created By user picker.

If the user picker displays only users associated with the current project rather than users across your organization, you are experiencing a known issue.

You may also observe the following behavior:

  • A user appears in the picker only after they have been added to the current project.
  • A user who belongs only to another project does not appear in the picker.
  • The issue occurs even when using an Organization Administrator account.

Workaround

There is currently no confirmed workaround for this issue.

If you need to locate items created by users who do not appear in the Created By user picker, consider using other available filter criteria to narrow your search until a product update is available.
