Supported Software for Jama Connect® Self-Hosted 9.35.x

System requirements and supported software (KOTS)

Ensure that your environment meets all requirements and recommendations before installing Jama Connect®.

After reviewing the information on this page, refer to “Things to Do Before Installation” in the Jama Connect® v9.35.x User Guide.

IMPORTANT

If you are using Ubuntu 22.04, you must increase the memory allocation, or OpenSearch will fail.
Update the memory settings in the KOTS Admin Console as follows:

Maximum Memory: 6 GB
Maximum Memory for Container: 8 GB

Application Server Requirements

Use the following specifications when provisioning the server that will run the Jama Connect® application. For guidance on selecting the correct size for your environment, see “Resource sizing for application server” in the Jama Connect® v9.35.x User Guide.

Operating System

Recommended: Ubuntu 22.04* or Ubuntu 24.04
Red Hat 9.6 — Supported only when the RHEL Container Tools are not installed.

*To use Ubuntu 22.04, you must update the memory, or OpenSearch fails. From the KOTS Admin Console, adjust the memory settings so that the maximum memory is 6G and the maximum memory for the container is 8 GB.

Database Software

Jama Connect® supports the following database platforms:

MySQL: 8.4.x
Microsoft SQL Server 2022

Musts

Database is hosted on a server separate from the Jama Connect application.
Database server can host other databases, but no other applications.
Accessible by admin with permissions.
Uses only supported software and environments.
Databases must be able to accept a minimum of 300 concurrent connections.

Not Supported

Jama Connect® does not support the following:

Azure Database
MariaDB
AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) installations or deployments of Jama Connect
Custom database configurations, examples:
- Query optimization settings are not shipped with Jama Connect
- Additional or modified indexes
