Products and Versions Covered:

  • Jama Connect®
    • Self-hosted
    • Kubernetes-native deployment
      • Replicated KOTS

Summary

Yes. Jama Connect® can be deployed on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using the Kubernetes-native deployment model.

Kubernetes-native deployment uses Helm to deploy Jama Connect into a customer-managed Kubernetes environment. It can also be used with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Red Hat OpenShift, CNCF-conformant Kubernetes environments, and air-gapped Kubernetes environments.

The Kubernetes-native deployment model is separate from the Replicated KOTS deployment model. Customers using Replicated KOTS must follow the installation and system requirements specific to KOTS deployments.

Resolution

Jama Connect Kubernetes-native deployment allows customers to deploy Jama Connect into their existing Kubernetes infrastructure using Helm, including:

  • Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • CNCF-conformant Kubernetes environments
  • Air-gapped Kubernetes environments

Jama Connect support scope

Jama Software supports Jama Connect and its Kubernetes-native deployment in accordance with the published Supported Software and System Requirements.

The ability to deploy Jama Connect on a managed Kubernetes platform, such as Amazon EKS or Azure AKS, does not mean that Jama Software independently certifies or routinely tests every configuration available on those platforms.

Customers are responsible for the configuration, administration, and operation of their Kubernetes platform and underlying infrastructure. This includes platform-specific networking, storage, security policies, cluster configuration, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure.

Jama Software Support assists with Jama Connect and its Kubernetes-native deployment within the documented product scope. If troubleshooting identifies an issue with the underlying Kubernetes platform or infrastructure, customers may need to work with their platform administrator or infrastructure provider to investigate further.

Replicated KOTS deployments

Kubernetes-native deployment is separate from Jama Connect deployments managed through Replicated KOTS.

The ability to deploy Jama Connect using the Kubernetes-native deployment model does not change the architecture or requirements for KOTS installations. Customers using Replicated KOTS must follow the published installation and system requirements for their KOTS environment.
