Question 1: Does Jama Software validate the software before it is released?

Answer: Yes, each version of Jama Connect® is validated before commercial release, and it is certified through our Notified Body (TUV SUD).

Question 2: Does Jama Software offer tools to help customers validate their specific configuration and setup of Jama Connect®?

Answer: The JVK can help customers validate their configuration and setup. 

Question 3: What's included in the JVK?

Answer: The JVK includes the following artifacts:

  • Installation Qualification (IQ) Report (cloud-based customers only)
  • TUV SUD Certificate and Report
  • Process Document
  • Critical Workflows (Safety Manual)
  • Performance Qualification Report
  • Importable Core Workflows and Test Cases
  • PQR Testing Details
  • Team Coverage Report
  • Test Cases Comparison Report
  • Known Defects
  • Access to the Customer Feedback Forum

Question 4: How do I get access to the JVK?

Answer: You can contact your Customer Success Manager to get a quote to purchase the JVK. Once purchased you will be added to the Jama Validation Kit (JVK) community page

The latest version of the JVK can be downloaded from the JVK community page.

Question 5: Now that I've gained access to the JVK, how do I use it?

Answer: The instructions in the Importable Core Workflows and Test Cases file are used to import the provided test cases.  

Question 6: If I purchase the JVK do I still need to validate my Jama Connect® instance?

Answer: Yes, regulations state that software must be validated for its intended use. In this case that would refer to all configuration made in your instance. 

Question 7: What is required for Jama to be fully validated?

Answer: Generally 3 phases of validation with objective evidence are required:

  • Installation Qualification (IQ)- completed by Jama
  • Operational Qualification (OQ)- completed by Jama
  • Performance Qualification (PQ)- completed by the customer
