Note

This release replaces the Jama Connect® v9.6.5 hotfix and resolves a license-related message in Excel exports

This release provides standard maintenance updates -- delivering security and deployment improvements in several areas, including:

  • Ingress Rearchitecture for AWS LB issues in KOTS. This will further enable JMX features.
  • Upgrade ActiveMQ service broker to 5.18.3 for self-hosted
  • Update kotsadm to 1.108.x

  • Remove centOS from KOTS installer

Before upgrading your Jama Connect® instance to Jama Connect® 9.0.6 or 9.6.6, you must first upgrade the Jama Connect® KOTS platform.

Important

Jama Connect® 9.6.5 is no longer downloadable and has been replaced with Jama Connect® 9.6.6.

1. Upgrade the Jama Connect® KOTS platform

  • If upgrading from a version before 8.79.6/9.0.4, follow the instructions in the Jama Connect® User Guide's"Upgrading Jama Connect (KOTS)" section. 
    • Upgrading from a version before 8.79.6/9.0.4 requires additional steps outlined in the user guide.
  • If upgrading from version 8.79.6/9.0.4 or later, run the following command on all Jama Connect® nodes.

Airgap Environment:

If upgrading from the Jama Connect® v8.79/9.0.4 or later in an airgap environment:  

1. Log in to the airgap portal, select Embedded Cluster, then download the Embedded Kubernetes Installer files to your local system. 

2. Extract (untar) the kURL installer: 

tar -xzvf jama-k8-standardkots.tar.gz 

3. Run the kURL script to ensure all required images are available:

sudo bash tasks.sh load-images

4. Run the kURL installer. From the command line on the primary node/application server, enter the following command to initiate the installation:

sudo bash install.sh airgap

2. Run the following command, regardless of the upgrade path:

Once the Jama Connect® KOTS platform upgrade is complete, regardless of the upgrade path, run the following command to manually delete the projectcontour namespace on all nodes before proceeding with the Jama Connect upgrade.

kubectl delete namespace projectcontour

3. Upgrade Jama Connect®

To upgrade Jama Connect®, locate your upgrade version in the Jama Connect® KOTS Admin Console and select Deploy.

Resolved issues

ID Description
SOS-DEF-7141 Re-indexing is no longer affected by using uppercase letters in the database configuration.
SOS-DEF-7368 Test cases from a prior test plan are no longer displayed when a new test plan is created after closing and reopening the initial test plan. 
SOS-DEF-7427 Mark it as an important flag that is now available in review comments for all customers. 
SOS-DEF-7441 You can now relate components to other items.
SOS-DEF-8283 If a test plan is archived, associated test runs no longer appear in a test case's test run widget.
SOS-DEF-8396 Excel exports now reflect line breaks when the Description field is plain text.
