V4 Note:

The Jama Connect 9.17.x User Guide has been updated to include new SMTP settings and UI changes. All SMTP settings have been moved to the Outgoing Email (SMTP) tab. This version of the user guide includes the new topic, Configure Outgoing Email (SMTP) settings.
 
V3 Note: Here are the changes:
  • If Jama Connect deployment fails, the topic Troubleshoot PersistentVolumeAccessMode errors have been updated to include a note that “ReadWriteMany” should only be selected if the configured storage provider supports that access mode.
  • The topic of system requirements and supported software no longer includes the operating system requirements for the database server because we support operating systems compatible with supported databases and versions.

KOTS preflight installation and upgrade checks MUST be run

Jama Connect is a Linux-based application that uses containerd to manage containers and depends on Replicated KOTS software to "orchestrate" deploying applications. The process of installing Jama Connect® includes installing and configuring the software. These tasks deliver the components necessary to run Jama Connect.

Components and what they do
Replicated KOTS — A container-based platform for quickly deploying cloud-native applications inside customers' environments, providing greater security and control. The KOTS Admin Console is the interface for installing and administering the Jama Connect application. See https://www.replicated.com/ for details.

Containerd — A container runtime that assists in deploying, managing, and operating containers that support Jama Connect KOTS. See https://containerd.io/ for details.

Jama Connect license — The license is included in your Welcome email. Save the license to your application server, then install Jama Connect.

Users access Jama Connect by browsing the instance URL (https://jamainstanceurl.custom- er.com/).
