LDAP Issue: "Attribute ID must not be empty" when upgrading to KOTS

Environmental details: While attempting to upgrade to KOTS 9.0.2, an LDAP error was encountered.

Summary:

When upgrading to Jama KOTS 9.0.2, LDAP configuration sometimes causes it to fail. The following error is triggered on the logs and also pops up as a message on the Jama UI when trying to log in. 

Problem: Incomplete LDAP configuration fields

Solution:

  1. Navigate to the Advanced LDAP configurations (Attributes screen) on the Jama instance. See screenshot below:
  2. Check if any of the fields are missing a value.
  3. Update the blank fields with any non-empty value.
  4. Save the changes. 

Cause:

The error is triggered because of LDAP configuration fields having empty values.

Resolution: Following the above steps, you can troubleshoot and resolve the LDAP configuration problem. 

Prevention: Ensure NO fields are left empty.
